Should you have a website? That depends. I recommend it, (but it is not absolutely necessary). If you don’t have the time or resources at this moment you can always add one later.

The reasons why I recommend that you have a website:

• Builds your image – adds credibility and trust
• Give your clients more information
• Attract new clients from ‘the web’
• It can be an excellent sales tool working for you 24-7
• Comfort and Security – Let your clients know what to expect before they come to see you
• Earn extra money selling back-end (complimentary) products

The first thing is: you should have a professional looking website. If your website looks bad, this is a direct reflection on you. If you already have a website, take a good look at it and you may want to ask others (who don’t know you personally) for their impressions. If it’s not looking good, fix it or replace it.
As I explain in the advertising section, you want to look clean, clear and professional. When selling your service, evoke an emotion that reflects the benefit/s your target market wants.

Be clear about what your website is for. Is it to sell your service, provide information or both? If both, have this information in separate categories. You don’t want to confuse your site visitors.

Your site should be easy to navigate and intuitive. Ensure that there are navigation buttons on all your pages. Don’t rely on your customers to use the ‘back button’.

I recommend that you avoid ‘flashy, blinking buttons’ and keep your site looking clean and professional. If you are going to sell products other than your main service, have a special category and specific page for the products.

It’s a good idea to have your home page very simple with a nice graphic, your logo, ‘welcome to my site’, and a small paragraph about your site, how to navigate it, etc.

My colleagues or I can do a great looking site for you at a reasonable price and the benefit is that we design sites to rank well in the search engines (and get free visitors).

P.S.

Make sure you choose a catchy url

Your web address should be easy to remember. Try to use a dot com address whenever possible. You can also register your name or business name and ‘point it’ to your website (you can have multiple domain names for 1 website) I use Dynadot for all of my domains and recommend them to all my clients.
